Director of Information Technology Bert Cliche |
Bert oversees the technology efforts associated with the main and satellite offices as well as the www.caia.org website. Bert joined the CAIA association in December 2008 with 23 years of technology experience, over 15 of which were with Wall Street firms. Bert came to the CAIA Association from Merrill Lynch, where as a Director he ran the engineering team for Investment Banking, Research, Human Resources, Legal/ Compliance, and Corporate Technology. Prior roles included SVP and Chief Architect for Equity and Fixed Income Prime Brokerage, Equity/ Fixed Income Sales, and Futures technology areas at Citigroup. Bert lives in Leverett, MA, with his wife and 2 children. |

Associate Director of Legal Affairs and HR Ruth Carolan |
Ruth joined us in September 2007 to manage our day-to-day developmental and administrative operations. She works collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Director of Member Services to establish the global chapters. She handles legal contracts and obligations, acts as liaison between the Association and its various contracted legal teams, and liaises with the off-site technical support team and office staff. Ruth also provides office support and oversight of the administrative staff, human resources support, and office maintenance. Her more than fifteen years of paralegal experience with law firms and biotechnology companies in the Washington, D.C. area are a great asset. Ruth enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and exploring New England. |

Associate Director of Operations Dee Weber |
Dee Weber provides a range of operational support service to the CAIA Association with primary responsibilities in accounting, IT support, database oversight, and analysis. In addition, she maintains the bibliography. Dee has worked with CISDM (Center for International Derivatives and Securities Markets) as a research associate for over ten years overseeing the database and software at the Research Center and providing operational support to the faculty and students. She received a BA in Sociology from Bates College and a Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts. |

Candidate Services & Operations Assistant Janis Merrell |
As Candidate Services and Operations Assistant, Janis is the first point of contact for CAIA candidates and potential candidates. She fields phone call inquiries about the program and manages the CAIA Information email account. She also helps to administer AllAboutAlpha.com and provides support to the Human Resources team. Janis is a graduate of UMASS-Amherst with a dual degree in English & Journalism. Before joining CAIA, Janis worked for over seven years at the Jeffery Amherst Bookshop as the Special Orders Manager, where she searched for hard-to-find and out-of-print books while recommending her favorite reads. In her free time Janis enjoys reading, writing, editing, and watching as many movies as is humanly possible. |
