What does the exam registration fee cover?
The exam registration fee covers a single level exam (I or II) during a single exam period (March or September). Please note that by registering for a single exam, you are committing yourself to a date- and time-specific exam, and you may not postpone from one testing period to another; e.g., you cannot change your September Level I exam registration to March. Exam registration fees do not include the cost of textbooks or expenses associated with the purchase of other curriculum materials. top

Registration is an online process. The preferred method of payment is by credit card. We accept American Express, VISA, and MasterCard. For all other non-website payments (including wire transfers, checks, or money orders), an additional processing fee per registration will be charged. Note: All fees must be paid in full by a single party. Partial, split, or multi-party payments are not accepted. top

How do I receive the early registration discount?
Candidates who register during the first six weeks of any registration period receive a $100 discount on exam registration fees only. To qualify for this discount, payment must be submitted by the early registration deadline. Exam retake fees are constant across exam levels and are not time-sensitive. top
I am currently registered to sit for an exam, but something has come up/my plans have changed. Can I postpone my exam to the next testing period?
No, registration is exam-specific and not open-ended. By registering for a single exam, you are committing yourself to a date- and time-specific exam, and you may not postpone from one testing period to another; e.g., you cannot change your September Level I exam registration to March. If you are unable to sit for the exam for which you are currently registered, or if you do not pass, you automatically become eligible to retake the same level exam during any future exam session for a $450 retake fee. top
Do I qualify for discounted examination fees?
Discounts are available to employees of AIMA and CISDM member firms. Membership in AIMA and CISDM is country- and division-specific. The CAIA Association also provides discounts for individual/employee members of other professional organizations. A complete list of available discounts is available here. To confirm membership, please check with your human resources department or contact these organizations directly. top
After registering for an exam, I realized I am eligible for discounted examination fees. Can I now get a refund of the difference in fees?
Eligible candidates must apply for the appropriate discount at the time of registration by clicking on the Association Discount Request button or forfeit said discount(s). The Association does not grant retroactive discounts. When registering for a CAIA exam, candidates automatically receive the lowest standard applicable rate at that time. In order to qualify for the early registration discount, your exam purchase must be completed prior to the close of the early registration period (see Exam Dates). top
