AMHERST, MA—The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association has announced the publication of their new CAIA Alternative Investment Knowledge Series, an authoritative source of alternative investment analytics, tools and applications.

The CAIA Alternative Investment Knowledge Series has been launched with the publication of three new books:

  • CAIA Level I: An Introduction to Core Topics in Alternatives
  • CAIA Level II: Advanced Core Topics in Alternatives
  • CAIA Level II: Integrated Topics and Applications

In conjunction with the annually-updated CAIA Level II: Current and Integrated Topics, these new publications will compose the CAIA program’s alternative investment curriculum, beginning with the March 2010 examinations.

"After extensive development work, we are very proud of this comprehensive educational series. The rapid growth of the alternative investment sector has created the need for a clearly defined canon through which those working in this sector can move up the learning curve," said Dr. Hossein Kazemi, program director for the CAIA Association. "We are confident that the CAIA Alternative Investment Knowledge Series fills this gap and meets our mission to educate financial industry professionals on the full spectrum of alternative investments."

The new series was developed to comprehensively cover the CAIA program’s Core Knowledge Outline, a thorough framework of the information and associated skills required for all professionals working with alternative investments.

The Core Knowledge Outline and new texts are the result of collaborative work that included several hundred CAIA members, industry experts, and academics. Authors of the publications include Mark Anson, Francois-Serge Lhabitant, Thomas Thibodeau, Pierre-Yves Mathonet and Thomas Meyer.

The new CAIA Alternative Investment Knowledge Series becomes available on October 12.
