The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst
Association (CAIA Association) is pleased to announce the addition of Alexander
M. Ineichen to its Board of Directors.
In addition to being an inaugural CAIA member, Mr. Ineichen is the Global Head of Alternative Investment Strategies (AIS) Research at UBS Investment Research, and co-creator of "Flow Watch" - a weekly research analysis of equity capital flows.
Craig Asche, the Association's Executive Director,
said: "We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Ineichen to the Board. His
exemplary industry background and his enthusiastic support for the mission of
the CAIA Association make him an excellent addition. I look forward to working
with Alex in our ongoing effort to make the CAIA designation the standard of excellence
in the field of alternative investments."
Mr. Ineichen joins fellow board members Thomas Schneeweis, Director of the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets, and Florence Lombard, Executive Director of the Alternative Investment Management Association, the two founding organizations of the CAIA Association.
Responding to his appointment, Mr. Ineichen stated: "Alternative
investment strategies and alternative asset classes are rapidly gaining
momentum within institutional investment management as well as private wealth
management. The CAIA Program is a well structured course that allows financial
professionals with a broad array of educational backgrounds to move up the learning
curve quickly and in a structured fashion. The Program is comprehensive and
well balanced between academic and practitioner research. I am delighted to be
part of the program."
Mr. Ineichen began his financial career in 1988
developing risk management products at Swiss Bank Corporation and has specialized
in equity derivatives research since 1991. He is the author of "In Search of
Alpha - Investing in Hedge Funds" and "The Search for Alpha Continues - Do Fund
of Hedge Funds Add Value?". These two publications have been the most often printed
research papers in the documented history of UBS Investment Research. In
addition, he authored the book Absolute Returns - Risk and Opportunities of
Hedge Fund Investing. Mr. Ineichen has published research on equity derivatives
and hedge funds in several financial journals, has contributed chapters to
multi-author financial books and has written numerous articles for the
financial press.
The CAIA Association is a not-for-profit chartering

the CAIA designation as the definitive global standard for alternative
investment professionals; enhance industry knowledge through ongoing
educational programs; promote ethical and professional conduct within the

academics and practitioners alike. Since its inception in November 2002, the
Association has received over 600 registrations and has doubled the number of
candidates sitting for each successive exam.
