CAIAA Examination - CFA Stackable Credential Program

Overview and Eligibility Criteria

The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association (CAIAA) Stackable Credential Program will allow qualified Candidates to “stack” their acquired knowledge and credentials and move directly to Level II of the rigorous two-part CAIA exam series.    

To be eligible for the Program, Candidates:  

  • must be a CFA charterholder, in good standing,  
  • must have acquired a CFA digital badge, verifiable by CAIAA, and  
  • may apply and register for the program at www.caia.org during CAIAA’s exam registration periods.  
     

Candidates who would like to make use One Exam Advantage Registration Option may begin the process at our Exam Registration Dates & Fees page: 

  1. Select “Registration is Open” and create an account.  
  1. Choose exam type: select “Register for One Exam Advantage Option *Exclusive for CFA charterholders*" 
  1. For verification purposes please provide: 
  • URL of your CFA charterholder digital badge. This can be obtained through your LinkedIn profile. Information or questions regarding obtaining your digital badge link should be directed to the CFA Institute. Sample format of the digital badge: https://credentials.cfainstitute.org/xxxxx. 
  • The year you became a CFA charterholder. 
  • The name of the CFA Society you are affiliated with.
     

Your One Exam Advantage  waiver is now provisionally approved and ready for you to complete your exam registration by submitting payment information. 
 

CAIAA will verify CFA charter status through the digital badge. Candidates will receive confirmation of their good standing. If the individual’s application is denied, they will be refunded the registration fee they may re-apply during the exam cycle, a future exam cycle or register for the Level I exam.  
 

Stackable Credential Program Candidates are ineligible for CAIA’s Gateway Scholarship or any other CAIA Scholarship Program. CAIA Academic Partner faculty who are CFA charterholders should contact candidate@caia.org for more information regarding their program eligibility.  
 

In accordance with CAIAA’s Membership policy, upon successfully passing the Level II exam, the Candidate will be able to apply and join CAIAA, earning the prestigious CAIAA Charter, a mark of distinction in the fast-growing and highly competitive alternative investment industry. Stackable Credential Program participants will have full access to the same Membership benefits as all CAIAA Members.
