Vanessa Gilman, CAIA recently joined DMS Governance as an Associate Director. As a CAIA member since 2008, Vanessa credits this achievement to her well-rounded professional background and expertise she has gained through the CAIA program. She notes, “DMS recognizes that the CAIA designation provides credibility and a detailed knowledge of alternative investments and it actively seeks candidates with these credentials.”

Vanessa’s career in the funds industry spans 20 years, beginning in 1998 with fund and corporate administration at Goldman Sachs and a subsequent move to Walkers SPV. She also gained three years of regulatory experience with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, followed by seven years in fiduciary roles at Maples Fiduciary Services and RBC Wealth Management. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (Summa Cum Laude) plus two academic awards from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts (High Distinction) from Liberty University’s School of Behavioral Sciences. Vanessa now looks forward to serving as an independent professional director to hedge funds in her new role at DMS.
