"The CAIA designation has become a recognized and distinguished mark among professionals.   The CAIA program is peerless, in that no other program so earnestly strives to deliver useful, quality content focused on alternative investments and their associated strategies.

Earning the CAIA Charter gave me the knowledge needed to publish my first book, Performance Measurement for Alternative Investments. Additionally I recently started my own global-macro investment firm.  Through CAIA, I was able to gain the requisite, in-depth understanding of hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and commodities.  Without the CAIA designation, meeting these goals would have been nearly impossible."

Timothy is the investment industry’s leading expert in performance measurement for alternative strategies. He is the author of “Performance Measurement for Alternative Investments” (Risk Books: 2015). Timothy provides best practice marketing services specializing in private long and long-short funds, liquid alt and commodities funds, MLPs, and private equity and real estate firms. Timothy has served on the NCREIF/PREA Reporting Standards Council as the Compliance Workgroup Chair, Chapter Executive for the Houston CAIA Chapter, and has served as curriculum reviewer for the CAIA Association.

He spent ten years with an investment specialist CPA firm, where he had executive responsibility for audit and consulting engagements for over 100 client relationships, including the firm's largest "household name" clients, as well as the firm's Asian joint ventures. Timothy also served as the CFO for a Houston-based financial firm where he had responsibility for co-managing an option based hedging strategy as well as the firm’s real estate portfolio. Other experience includes serving as Global Head of Performance and Attribution for an international asset management firm, and as Director of Performance Reporting for a leading US wrap fee investment manager. He is a dual graduate of the University of Colorado with a Master of Science Degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Timothy has authored numerous papers and articles, and has spoken at conferences around the world. He works from an office in Houston, Texas.
