World leader in alternative investment education now has a Chapter in the economic center of the Southeast

AMHERST, MASS. (February 11, 2016)The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, a global leader in alternative investment education, is today launching a new Chapter in Atlanta. This latest Chapter, CAIA’s 24th worldwide and 8th in the U.S., will bring together CAIA Members, Candidates, educational institutions, and other alternative investment industry participants to provide educational and networking opportunities for Atlanta’s diverse and fast-growing alternative investment community.

“As the economic hub of the Southeast, Atlanta is home to a fascinating cross-section of alternative asset managers, institutional investors, consultants, academics, and others who work in the field of alternatives,” said William J. Kelly, CEO of CAIA. “We are thrilled to be opening the doors to our latest Chapter in Atlanta as we’ve seen firsthand just how vibrant the local alternative investment community has been, and the tremendous growth it is likely to see in the coming years.”

CAIA Atlanta is led by Chapter Head Greg Kaufmann, CAIA, Vice President, GMT Capital, and Chapter Executives Anna Dunn, CAIA, Director of Research, Alpha Capital Management, and John Burrello, CAIA, Portfolio Manager, Invesco.

“Atlanta has an impressive breadth to its financial sector,” said Mr. Kaufmann. “Our plan for CAIA Atlanta is to become an excellent conduit through which several disparate segments of the alternative investment space can come together to share ideas and help build an even greater sense of community. We also plan to draw more attention to our Members’ efforts and their contributions on both a regional and national level.”

The CAIA Association offers the only credential focused on the alternative investment space and has become the global benchmark for alternative investment education. The CAIA Charter, an educational designation uniquely designed for individuals specializing in institutional-quality alternative investments, is granted upon successful completion of two levels of qualifying exams combined with relevant professional experience and joining the Association membership.

The Association now supports 24 global Chapters in financial centers in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and in North America, including the recent launches of Chapters in the Cayman Island and India, as well as in the form of a Virtual Chapter that brings together members from far-flung locations in more than 60 countries.

CAIA sponsors more than 120 educational and networking events each year and has 37 academic partnerships with leading universities, including 16 in the Americas, among them a partnership with Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, 11 in EMEA, and 10 in Asia Pacific.
