With great fanfare, CAIA recently launched the third annual 100 Women in Hedge Funds / CAIA Scholars program, funded by the Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO). Ten scholarships will be awarded to extraordinary women who are professionals in the alternative investments industry. The CAIA Foundation will accept applications through April 1st from members of 100 Women in Hedge Funds who are intending to take the Level 1 CAIA examination in September 2013.
As a valued CAIA member, we invite you - with great enthusiasm -- to join the 100 Women in Hedge Funds / CAIA Scholars Selection Committee. CAIA will determine the number of Committee members based on the number of scholarship applicants. We hope you will understand that CAIA may not be able to accommodate all who volunteer to participate in the review process. In appreciation of the excellent leadership demonstrated by CAIA members in previous years, members who served on the 2011 and/or 2012 Committees will be given first consideration.
Committee Responsibilities and Timeline of Activities
- As a Committee member, you will be asked to evaluate approximately 10 applications containing responses to three essays and two accompanying reference letters.
- If you would like to review scholarship applications, please respond no later than March 15th to foundation@caia.org. In responding, please share with us what you would like to gain through this experience.
- CAIA will offer Selection Committee confirmation, along with additional Scholars program details, to volunteers by March 29th.
- CAIA will mail scholarship applications, guidelines for applicant evaluation, and associated scoring tools to Selection Committee members by April 5th.
- Electronic review of the scholarship applications will be scheduled for mid to late April / early May, culminating in a conference call with CAIA.
On behalf of CAIA's leadership, we hope you will accept our invitation to join the 2013 Selection Committee and most of all, we thank you for your dedication to CAIA. If you have questions or seek additional information, please contact me or the CAIA Foundation directly at foundation@caia.org.
Best,
