“Tonight we celebrate the achievements, extraordinary vision, and passion for education of true leaders  in the global alternative investment community,” said Florence Lombard, CEO of the CAIA Association. “We are delighted to recognize our 2013 awards winners, whose innovative ideas and dedication to learning will help the CAIA Association continue its mission to promote continuing education, explore groundbreaking research, and advocate for the highest standards of professional ethics in the alternative investment industry.”

Winners of three industry awards were presented:
  • The Fourth Annual CAIA Leadership Award for Excellence in Alternative Investment Education was presented to Pierre Saint-Laurent, CAIA, President of AssetCounsel Inc. and lecturer at HEC Montreal. A CAIA member since 2004, Mr. Saint-Laurent received the award for his outstanding leadership in the field of alternative investments. • The Second Annual CAIA Corporate Recognition Award was presented to three companies: Mercer, PAAMCO, and UBS. The Corporate Recognition Award acknowledges the exceptional commitment these companies demonstrated over a long period of time and on a consistent basis in supporting their employees’ pursuit of the CAIA designation, providing critical support to candidates and encouraging volunteerism within CAIA.
  • The Second Annual Award for Academic Excellence and Alternative Investment Research was presented to Andrew Lo, Ph.D., the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor of Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Director of MIT’s Laboratory for Financial Engineering.
