Xiang Gao, CAIA, Chapter Executive and China Subcommittee Member

Xiang Gao, CAIA, is currently a Professor of Finance and the Head of Research Center of Finance at Shanghai Business School, Shanghai, China. His research interests focus on FinTech and green finance. He has published more than 70 papers in journals including the Economic Journal, Journal of Portfolio Management, etc. He also served as the associate editor for the Journal of International Money and Finance. He obtained his Ph.D.

Lapo Sogli, CAIA, CMT, FRM, Chapter Executive

Lapo Sogli is part of the European Equity Team at Candriam as Senior Fund Manager. He is also Head of Technical Analysis. He joined Candriam in 2010.

Lapo started his career as a trader. In 1995, he joined the proprietary desk of Bank of America in Milan, first as a forex trader, then as an equity trader.

In 2001 he moved to Luxembourg to join the advisory desk of Credit Agricole Indosuez where he  became the responsible for alternative investments and manager of a fund of hedge funds.

Dennis Montz, CAIA, Chapter Executive, Houston

Dennis Montz, CAIA, is the Senior Vice President and Director of Private Investments at Sentinel Trust Company. In this role, Montz sources, conducts due diligence on, analyzes, and monitors investments for four proprietary private equity funds of funds in conjunction with external specialized consultants. Additionally, he oversees limited partnership investments in venture capital, corporate finance, and real estate funds, as well as analyzes other private investment opportunities for clients.

Michael Griffin, CAIA, Chapter Executive, Houston

Michael Griffin is a founding partner of SilverOak Financial Group, Ltd., an investment management and financial planning firm in Houston, TX. He began his financial services career in 1999. He subsequently took an interest in the CAIA designation and received his Charter in 2010 in an effort to better serve his clients and in support of his own direct investment activities. Michael graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1990 with a BBA in Finance and a BA in Japanese.
