The CAIA Charter
For over two decades, the CAIA Charter Program has been a proven learning option for client-focused fiduciaries who want to develop a deeper understanding of alternative investments – ultimately driving the stewardship of financial markets. You will earn the CAIA designation by passing two exams and joining CAIA Membership.
UniFi by CAIA™
UniFi by CAIA™ is home to the self-paced Fundamentals of Alternative Investments certificate program, Private Debt microcredential, Digital Assets microcredential, Real Estate microcredential, and Private Equity microcredential. Plus, new relevant microcredentials will be released throughout 2025.
CAIA Charter: Professionals who want to develop a deep level of knowledge and demonstrated expertise in alternative investments and their contribution to the diversified portfolio.
UniFi by CAIA™: Anyone who works within the private wealth management industry, whether it be an asset manager, an intermediary, or an advisory firm.
CAIA Charter: Two levels of qualifying exams
UniFi by CAIA™: No qualifying exams
CAIA Charter: You will earn the CAIA Charter and be eligible to join the CAIA Association as an active Member. By doing so, you may use the CAIA designation to signal your expertise in alternative investments and join a global community of over 13,000 CAIA Charterholders in more than 100 countries. Additionally, active Members are provided complimentary access to the UniFi by CAIA™ microcredentials – Private Debt, Digital Assets, and Real Estate.
UniFi by CAIA™: Depending on the program, you will receive a certificate of completion and a digital badge from CAIA Association.
CAIA Charter: Yes, after passing the Level II exam, you are eligible to join the CAIA Association with relevant professional experience.
UniFi by CAIA™: No, CAIA Association Membership is only available to CAIA Charterholders.
