By registering as a Candidate for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, Inc. ("CAIAA") Exam, you agree to the following terms. These terms govern your participation in the CAIA Exam process and the conditions of your candidacy. As a Candidate, you are responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with the following:
CAIA Ethics Principles
You agree to uphold the CAIA Ethics Principles, which ensure ethical behavior and professionalism in the field of alternative investments. These principles will serve as a guide throughout the exam process and beyond. The CAIA Ethics Principles are available for review here.
CAIA Duty to Inform
You have the duty to inform CAIAA of any professional or legal matters, such as misconduct, convictions, or loss of professional privileges, within the past five years. The Duty to Inform is available for review here.
Use of the CAIA Marks
You are not authorized to use CAIA marks until successfully earning the CAIA designation. Upon qualification, you will need to adhere to specific guidelines for using the CAIA marks. These guidelines, found here, are provided to ensure that the marks are used appropriately and consistently with CAIA standards.
Enrollment and Registration Fees:
You acknowledge that the one-time applicable enrollment fee is nontransferable and nonrefundable. Registration fees are refundable for 14 calendar days after payment, but nontransferable thereafter. Learn more here.
Integrity of Application:
You represent that the information provided in your application is truthful and complete. You agree to notify CAIAA of any material changes to your application, including contact information updates.
Examination Policies:
Before finalizing your exam registration, you confirm that you have read and understood all CAIAA Examination Policies found here, detailing the terms and conditions of your exam participation. By submitting your application, you agree to abide by these policies and all terms outlined in this agreement.
Privacy Policy and Additional Terms:
By confirming your candidacy, you agree to the Privacy Policy, CAIAA Examination and Waiver and Release, and consent to receiving emails from CAIAA and select third parties regarding news, promotions, and offers that may be of interest to you. Each of the policies listed above may be modified by CAIAA from time to time in its sole discretion and without notice. Such policies, as they may be modified from time to time, are deemed to be a part of this Candidate Agreement as if they were fully reproduced herein. You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for periodically accessing the CAIAA website (www.caia.org), or otherwise obtaining copies of such updated policies by emailing candidate@caia.org. You agree to indemnify and hold CAIAA harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and fees (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your failure to comply with any term of this Candidate Agreement, including the policies referenced above and as hereafter amended.
CAIAA contracts Prometric for the administration of our exams at testing centers owned and/or operated Prometric. CAIAA has no control over the administration of these exams or the operation of the testing centers and accepts no liability relating thereto. Any questions or concerns you have regarding the facility at which your test is administered.
This Agreement is governed by and to be construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without giving effect to the conflicts or choice of law provisions thereof or of any other jurisdiction. All disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or in connection with your business relationship with CAIAA, including but not limited to under this Agreement, shall be finally settled by arbitration before a single arbitrator who shall be a member of and recognized by the American Arbitration Association (the “AAA”) in accordance with the AAA Employment Arbitration Rules and Mediation Procedures then in effect. Any arbitration commenced by either party shall be held in Massachusetts. You understand that by entering into this Agreement, you are waiving your right to have a court and a jury determine your rights. The decision of the arbitrator shall contain findings of fact and conclusions of law, shall be final and binding, and shall not be appealable upon any grounds other than as permitted pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act. The award, in the arbitrator’s discretion, may include reasonable attorney’s fees and costs. Judgment on the award may be entered, confirmed and enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction. There shall be no right or authority for any disputes, claims or controversies to be arbitrated on a class action or collective action basis or together with the claim of any other person.
