Ahmad Ali Alwan is the Deputy CEO of Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem. In his role, Ahmad
leads the development and implementation of Hub71’s technology strategy and long-term vision to
elevate Abu Dhabi as a leading technology ecosystem globally. As part of the leadership team, Ahmad
plays a central role in shaping Hub71’s value proposition and the depth of its ecosystem with the aim of
increasing commercial and funding opportunities for technology startup and companies within its
community. Ahmad was a founding member of Hub71 from its inception in 2019, overseeing various
functions including strategy, stakeholder management, finance, investor engagement and operations.
Prior to his current role, Ahmad was a Senior Vice President at the UAE Investments Platform at
Mubadala Investment Company, overseeing a portfolio of UAE-based Aerospace and Technology assets.
The platform aims to incubate new sectors, diversifies the UAE’s economy, and accelerates the nation’s
economic transformation.
Previously, Ahmad supported the launch of Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners, a joint venture with a dual
mandate to achieve financial returns, while also contributing to the overall development of the Abu Dhabi
Global Market (ADGM).
Prior to that, Ahmad was part of Mubadala’s Portfolio Strategy team and contributed to formulating the
corporate strategy, overlaying internal and stakeholder objectives as well as supporting Mubadala’s
leadership with special projects. As part of this role, Ahmad served as the working committee secretary
and part of the project management office for the Mubadala-IPIC merger in 2016-2017. He began his
career within Mubadala Capital’s Private Equity fund investment team.
