At Verus, Brian works with a broad range of institutional investors on optimizing their portfolios through developing and implementing investment strategies, navigating capital markets, managing risk, and improving governance policies. He leads client engagements as both a strategic advisor and an OCIO, which include public pensions, endowments & foundations, corporate retirement plans, and multi-employer trust funds. He is the co-head of the public sector team, a member of the alternative investments committee, and a member of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) committee. He also collaborates with various teams on business development, regularly speaks at industry conferences, and is a shareholder of the firm.
Prior to joining Verus, Brian spent several years in both research and consulting capacities with William O’Neil & Company, an equity research firm based in Los Angeles. His experience during this tenure includes proprietary multi-factor model analysis, energy sector research lead, and member of the research committee.
Brian holds a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business and a bachelor of science (BS) degree in finance from California State University, Long Beach. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) charterholder, and a member of the CAIA Southwest Executive Board.
