Jason Morrow is a mission-driven investor and educator. He has expertise in asset allocation and portfolio construction and specializes in manager selection and strategy research. Jason has invested extensively across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and real assets, including co-investments and direct transactions. A seasoned leader and team builder, Jason is passionate about fostering values-driven, collaborative environments. He believes organizational culture and risk management are key drivers of long-term success.
Jason is the Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Utah Retirement Systems, which manages $62 billion in assets. In this role, he has expanded the organization’s private market capabilities, developed high-performing teams, and shaped an engaged and team-oriented culture. Previously, he was a portfolio manager and analyst at URS, where he helped establish the Absolute Return and Private Credit portfolios and oversaw fixed income. Before joining URS in 2007, Jason held private-sector roles in corporate finance, product management, and healthcare information systems.
Jason enjoys teaching alternative investments to MS Finance and MBA students at the University of Utah, where his students learn investment strategies and career insights from industry practitioners. He is also on the Advisory Board for AIF Global, an independent economic think tank focused on institutional investment policy. Previously he served on the CAIA Asset Allocators Advisory Council.
He earned his BS in Finance and MBA from the University of Utah and holds the CFA and CAIA designations.
