Charles Zhang has tremendous experience and expertise in quantitative research, economic policy analysis and credit portfolio management. Currently, Charles serves as a Sr Quantitative Analyst at Navy Federal, covering the full life cycle from origination/underwriting to prepayment management of the Real Estate Lending Portfolio and the Asset-Backed Lending Portfolio. Prior to Navy Federal, Charles was an associate portfolio manager managing indexed portfolios at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Charles also spent three years with Wells Fargo covering different functionalities in asset-liability management and credit analytics research.
Charles obtained his Ph.D. in Econometrics with a minor in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and his M.B.A from the Johns Hopkins University with scholarships. Charles is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. In his free time, Charles spends time with his cats and volunteers in the shelters of Atlanta Humane Society, where he adopted his cats. Charles enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and biking, and he uses classical music as a boost of productivity when working.
