In his 20+ years in the investment industry Chris has experience with, business operations, valuation, accounting, finance, regulations, venture capital, securities research, portfolio management, estate planning, securities finance, arbitrage trading, and hedging. Currently he is a Managing Partner with Malidan Capital Group. Chris is working on Malidan’s early stage venture fund, the Frontier Performance Fund. Chris works on pipeline development, analysis, due diligence, portfolio management, operations, and regulations. Previously he was Managing Director of Bluewater Global Ltd an international holding company where he performed company analysis and invested in a variety of direct and indirect venture company projects. At Benchmark Plus he was responsible for creation of the company’s business risk and operational due diligence program. Chris was a senior member of the investment research team and was responsible for sourcing and analyzing potential investments. Chris was the head execution trader for futures, options, and OTC based trades. Chris also negotiated and structured ISDAs, OTC trading, lending and financing agreements. While at Paloma Securities he was the manager of a regional trading desk and a senior trader working on the Canadian and European trade book analyzing and managing global arbitrage opportunities. He was also a member of the hedge fund security finance team that performed due diligence of the Paloma hedge funds to assist in enhanced finance/margin treatment and short coverage costs. Prior to that Chris was a portfolio manager for the investment division of Key Asset Management. He managed institutional and private client discretionary accounts and was responsible for sales, asset research/valuation, estate planning, and portfolio allocation. Chris co-founded the Northwest Hedge Fund Society (now the Seattle Alternative Investment Association) in 2004. He is one of the founders and executive member of the Seattle CAIA chapter that launched in 2017. He is a member of the Charles Wright Academy endowment board. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1998, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst in 2011, and holds a BBA from the University of Portland.
