Dasha Safonova serves as a Senior Financial Economist in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In her role, she provides economic analysis and advice on a wide range of topics, including regulation of investment companies and investment advisers. During her tenure, she earned various awards for her role in the policy-making process. Prior to the SEC, Dasha conducted research on various topics in monetary policy and financial intermediation.
Dasha earned a BSBA in Economics, Finance, and Decision Science from Old Dominion University and a PhD in Economics from University of Notre Dame. She is a CAIA charterholder and also holds a certificate in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University.
