Fernando Manrique has more than 18 years of experience in the capital markets, with more than 16 of them in the Investments area in the Private Pension System (SPP) in Peru. He started his investments career in 2005 as an equity trader in AFP Horizonte, taking responsibilities also in alternative investments in 2008 as well when he was promoted as the Portfolio Manager of International Equities and Alternative Investments. In 2010, he became Head of Equities and member of the Investment Committee until August 2013 when AFP Horizonte was bought by Sura and Scotiabank. In AFP Integra (Sura) Fernando was assigned the bottom up Portfolio as Head of Analysis. From April 2014 until October 2017, he was the Head of Equities of Prima AFP managing directly around US$ 7Bn. Both in Integra and Prima Fernando was a member of the Investment Committee. Throughout his career Fernando has been a pioneer in the SPP leading the first investment of any AFP in products like Equity and Commodities Options, Futures and Securities Lending. He also was the Head of the Equity platform in Latam at HMC Asset Management. Since 2020 he is Deputy CIO and Head of Bottom Up Investments at AFP Integra, the largest pension fund in Peru. He holds the CFA and CAIA designations and is a founding member of the CFA Society in Peru and Head of Peru in the CAIA Latam Chapter. He got a MSc degree in Major Programme Management at the Said Business School at the University of Oxford in 2020. He has post graduate studies in Portfolio Management in Wharton Executive Education School and also has a Professional degree in Business Administration from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.
