Nathan Erickson is a distinguished professional serving as the Director of Investment Strategy at Bell Institutional Investment Management (BIIM), a division of Bell Bank. With extensive experience in portfolio management and investment consulting, Nathan leads a team of client-facing portfolio managers and plays a vital role in the BIIM Investment Committee. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of BIIM's External Strategies Committee and provides expert guidance as an investment consultant for institutional portfolios. He also contributes to Bell’s long-term capital market assumptions, asset allocation, and client communications.
Prior to joining Bell in 2018, Nathan held key positions in institutional portfolio management, capital markets research, manager due diligence, and high net worth relationship management while based in Arizona and Wisconsin. Notably, he was an instrumental member of Vanguard's institutional investment management team, where he made significant contributions to portfolio construction, spending analyses, forecasting, and socially responsible investing initiatives.
A native of Fergus Falls, MN, Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Minnesota State University and an MBA from the University of Mary. He has earned the prestigious CFA charter, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, and is also a Charterholder of the CAIA program. Nathan actively participates in local chapters of the CFA and CAIA societies.
