Phil Shankweiler is a director within the Hartford Funds advisory services group. In this role, he works with RIAs, family offices, and bank-trust groups to help them enhance their investment and client-service outcomes. Through a personalized, client–centric approach, Phil brings the value of Hartford Funds to clients with an expertise in capital markets, investment management, and the financial–planning process.
Phil joined the organization in 2006, and has worked in a variety of management, sales, and client–services capacities within the firm. Prior to his current role, he was the head of internal sales and client service at the firm, charged with the leadership and strategic direction of sales professionals supporting our brokerage and financial–planner channels.
Phil has demonstrated his commitment to the industry and his passion for learning by becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, CAIA Charterholder, and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He also holds an MBA from the Villanova School of Business. Phil is currently a member of the CFA Society Philadelphia and a Chapter Executive with the Pennsylvania chapter of the CAIA Association.
Phil currently lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Samantha, and their children, Laney, Kinsley, and Deacon. He is actively involved in his church and several community organizations. He enjoys spending time with family and friends; other interests include reading, playing golf, and playing soccer.
