Robert Nelson is a Principal on the Private Markets team at Mercer. In his role, Mr. Nelson primarily leads the sourcing, due diligence, and investment selection of North American small- and mid-market buyout and growth equity primary funds. He also oversees Mercer’s strategic research on the North American private equity market and assists with sourcing and underwriting co-investment and secondary opportunities. Mr. Nelson joined Mercer through the acquisition of Summit Strategies Group, where he was a member of the Private Markets team. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business, where he double-majored in Financial Analysis and Marketing. Additionally, he has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and holds the Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
