Roman Novozhilov is currently the Head of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) at the New Development Bank. He has over 20 years of global experience across ESG matters in private markets focusing on infrastructure, private equity and credit. Before joining NDB, he was with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, D.C., Johannesburg and Hong Kong, focusing on managing ESG risks of IFC’s investments and helping IFC’s clients to improve their ESG performance. Before that, he held various roles in sustainability policy at the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
Roman holds a Ph.D. in Economic Sociology from American University (Washington D.C.) and an M.A. from Central European University (Vienna). He is a CAIA Charterholder and Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA).
