Victor is a native of Miami, FL, and the first-born of a Cuban immigrant family. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he majored in Economics and graduated with merit. Upon graduation, Victor was selected to serve in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer.
Following graduation, he proceeded to the Navy’s nuclear training pipeline which allowed him to qualify as a nuclear engineer and prepared him for his future role as a nuclear submarine officer. As a submarine officer, he served on the USS CHEYENNE (SSN-773) out of Pearl Harbor, HI in a variety of roles including Reactor Control Assistant and Communications Officer. On this tour, he had 1 western Pacific deployment, 1 shipyard major repair period, and participated in various international exercises, including the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise.
Following his time at sea, Victor was assigned to the University of Notre Dame to be an Assistant Professor in their Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program. As an Assistant Professor, he taught 2 technical courses: Naval Propulsion Systems and Engineering and Weapon Systems Applications. When not teaching, he mentored students interested in the Navy’s nuclear propulsion program and prepared students for nuke interviews with a 100% success rate. During his personal time, he pursued his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago through their Evening and Weekend MBA Program.
In 2016, Victor transitioned out of active duty into his civilian career and the Navy Reserves. He joined Wells Fargo through their inaugural Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Program. This launched his banking career as a macro trader on the Credit Derivatives trading desk where he rose to become a Vice-President. After 6 years in trading, in search for a way to tie his desire for social impact and love of finance, Victor joined the Corporate & Investment Bank’s (CIB) Diverse Segments team as the Head of the Veterans Segment. In this role, Victor is charged with maximizing positive outcomes for our diverse client base, with a specific focus on Veteran clients. In this role, he focuses on business development across banking, capital markets, and commercial real estate.
On his personal time, Victor co-founded and co-leads the Veterans on Wall Street – Charlotte Chapter, and is involved in the community through various organizations, including Veterans Bridge Home, the Naval Academy Alumni Association, and the City of Charlotte Business Advisory Council. He has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal as a 40 under 40, and by Business Insider as a 25 under 35 Rising Stars of Wall Street. Most recently he was recognized by the Wells Fargo CIB 2022 Champion Spotlight Award as a top performer who has made significant contributions to the business and its clients. Victor and his wife, Nicolette, have two daughters, and reside in Charlotte, NC.
