Yoshinobu Yarita is the Founder and CEO of the Japan Alternative Investment Research Institute. Drawing on nearly 40 years of experience in the financial industry—including two decades dedicated to private equity—Yoshinobu currently serves as the Japan Chapter Head of the CAIA Association and a Director-at-Large for the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) Japan Chapter. Furthermore, he provides strategic counsel as an advisor to the CEO of Sakata INX and holds advisory roles at several other corporations.
Prior to his current roles, Yoshinobu spent 29 years at Nomura (1987–2016), where he gained diverse experience across various departments. His career there was notably marked by his contributions to the private equity sector, where he focused on achieving successful investment outcomes. He subsequently served as a Managing Director at PAG (2016–2020), overseeing private equity operations at the firm’s Japan office.
In addition to being a CAIA Charterholder, Yoshinobu is a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Chartered Member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan (CMA). He holds a BA in Economics from Yokohama National University. In his personal time, he has enjoyed scuba diving for nearly 40 years.
