AMHERST, MASS. (May 15, 2019) – The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, the global leader in alternative investment education, today announced its newest association partners: the Women’s Association of Venture & Equity (WAVE), the Seattle Alternative Investment Association (SAIA), and the Canadian Association of Alternative Strategies & Assets (CAASA).
Members of SAIA, WAVE and CAASA will now be eligible for a discount on CAIA Level I and Level II exams and will have access to supplemental knowledge and resources through CAIA-sponsored industry events.
“The very essence of CAIA’s mission is to provide an educational gateway into a more diversified investment plan. That same base concept applies to supporting more professional diversity in our industry, and to also bring our message to the vast expanse of the regions that we cover,” said William J. Kelly, CEO of the CAIA Association. “We are thrilled to partner with WAVE on the former in our support of their mandate, and to establish a deeper content-based presence in the Pacific Northwest with SAIA and across Canada with CAASA.”
CAIA’s Association Partners are world-class organizations that serve the alternative investment community in ways that complement CAIA’s mission and enrich CAIA’s member and candidate experience through educational opportunities.
SAIA, WAVE and CAASA join dozens of domestic and global organizations that are partnering with CAIA as an endorsement of the CAIA curriculum.
“The Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE) is pleased to announce their partnership with CAIA,” said Julie Gionfriddo, President of WAVE and Principal, Apple Tree Partners. “This partnership formalizes an ongoing and productive collaboration between the entities promoting the education of women in alternative investments.”
“We’re very happy to formalize our partnership with CAIA,” said Brian Hanson, Vice President of the Board of SAIA and Executive Director at Mercury Capital Advisors. “The Seattle area has a robust and growing alternative investments community, and we look forward to working closely with the CAIA team to further our joint mission of providing educational and networking opportunities.”
“My personal relationship with CAIA started in 2006, and having been active in many CAIA roles over the years, I can truly say that it has been very beneficial both in terms of the people I have met and the learning received,” said James Burron, CAIA, President of CAASA. “In fact, we modeled CAASA after the pan-alternative, inclusive, and active role that CAIA plays in the community and are happy to support CAIA in its many initiatives.”
