Fernando Manrique has more than 18 years of experience in the capital markets, with more than 16 of them in the Investments area in the Private Pension System (SPP) in Peru. He started his investments career in 2005 as an equity trader in AFP Horizonte, taking responsibilities also in alternative investments in 2008 as well when he was promoted as the Portfolio Manager of International Equities and Alternative Investments.

Daniel Mueller, CAIA, Chapter Head, LatAm

Prior to co-founding the Latin American business of Alpine in 2015, Daniel worked for Moneda Asset Management, one of the largest independent Latin American investment managers based in Santiago, Chile, managing over USD $10bn for global institutional investors. He led Moneda’s fundraising efforts in Latin America to both institutional and private investors, successfully multiplying Moneda’s AUM in the region by over 4x in 4 years and opening several key markets for the firm.

Description: In this presentation, Aaron Filbeck discussed private equity investments, focusing on venture capital. Aaron provided insight into the life cycle and performance of venture capital funds and presented a framework for the private equity investment process, from the development of portfolio objectives, through liquidity management, and manager selection. Aaron concluded with a look at the risks involved in venture capital investments. Aaron’s presentation was followed by Rebecca who provided a presentation on venture capital updates for 2021.
