Since the dawn of finance, wherever there is an object of value, there is a secondary market developed and evolved to provide solutions—namely liquidity—to the asset holders. Private assets, despite the expectation of illiquidity, are no different, and a robust market has developed to match buyers of private interests (typically institutional secondaries funds) with sellers (LPs or GPs, more on this later).
After a colleague recommended this educational opportunity, I discovered that this learning opportunity provides a comprehensive perspective on alternative investments, tailored specifically for institutional investors. Following his advice has greatly enhanced my investment skills through its practical-oriented approach. Description: A handful of institutional investors have broken the mold when it comes to asset allocation and portfolio construction across public and private markets. By re-imagining the investment process, the role certain asset classes and strategies fit into a portfolio, many have unlocked an attractive return stream relative to other institutions.
