Pierre Saint-Laurent has been a CAIA Member since 2004. He is President of AssetCounsel Inc., a financial services consultancy, and Full-Time Lecturer at HEC Montreal, one of Canada’s leading business schools. He was formerly vice-president and shareholder of Talvest Fund Management, a division of TAL Asset Management (now CIBC Asset Management), as well as vice-president at StrategicNova (acquired by Dundee Wealth Management). Pierre was a research economist at Hydro-Quebec in two of its divisions. He has taught finance and economics at the University of Montreal Economics Department and at HEC Montreal. As well, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of a Canadian exchange-listed investment fund corporation. Pierre holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Montreal, with doctoral studies in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He holds a D.S.A. (Diploma in Business Administration), a graduate degree, from HEC Montreal. He has been an active participant in the CAIA exam grading process and is now a member of CAIA’s Internal Review Group. In addition to the CAIA Charter, he holds the CFA designation and has served as a CFA Examination Grader, and is a member of the CFA Institute's Disciplinary Review Committee Hearing Panel Pool. He received the FRM designation in April 2008, and the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation in 2010. Pierre is a frequent contributor to trade publications, and participates actively in industry conferences and events as a writer, speaker, moderator, and chair.
