Tokenization could help to democratize multiple asset classes by providing accessibility to more investors, while enabling asset managers to innovate by creating alternative assets tokens, thereby furthering the expansion of their potential product mix. Yet, the applications of the technology are still in the early stages. Chapter co-hosts CAIA Boston & CAIA Miami, along with CAIA CEO Bill Kelly, held a panel discussion on some of the investment applications and technological considerations of tokenized assets.

In this second webinar of our Tokenisation focus series, we explored some of the recent developments on Tokenisation and where the opportunities lie. We also discussed some of the applications of Tokenisation and what promise it holds for alternative assets.

This discussion covered items such as the auction process, negotiations, and operational due diligence, brought to life through real-world examples and applications.

Constructing a 'Portfolio for the Future' begins with broad and sophisticated diversification of beta. While alpha generation remains an important pursuit, so too are climate risk, operational excellence, and manager selection - now table stakes for the discerning asset owner. Bill Kelly, CEO, CAIA and Aaron Filbeck, CFA, CAIA, CIPM, FDP, Director of Global Content Development, CAIA, discussed the re-brand of CAIA Association’s blog, along with the issues they’ve been tackling in the blog’s “What About Beta” column.

Infrastructure serves as an important element of an investment portfolio. In this presentation Aaron Filbeck provides an overview of infrastructure as an asset class, explores the historical performance of infrastructure, and comments on their role in asset allocation and inflation protection. The differences between infrastructure and financial assets are compared during this conversation, while various methods of obtaining exposure to infrastructure are evaluated, specifically looking at rising inflation and the possible implications.

His presentation is followed by a panel discussion with Sui Chung, CEO of CF Benchmarks, Bastien Buchwalter, Associate Professor of Finance at SKEMA Business School, and Ken Odeluga, Head of Research and Content at CF Benchmarks. The panel shares insights on performance measurement, benchmarking, and portfolio considerations within the crypto asset space.
