“I have been fortunate to maintain a generalist approach to alternative investing throughout much of my career. This remains true at Texas ERS. This role provides me the good fortune to be exposed to a variety of alternative investment strategies and asset classes on a global basis within a highly flexible and fluid investment industry. The CAIA designation, along with the Association’s continued education material, have given me the ability to build and maintain invaluable investment knowledge within a very complicated investment industry."

Tales Prado Furlanetti Santos Silva, CAIA, CFA
"After earning the CFA designation last year, I still wanted to go deeper in the subjects of real estate, structured products, hedge funds, private equity, among other financial special cases, which make part of my daily routine at work as a business development professional for an alternative asset manager. Since the CAIA curriculum addressed all that and also covered current topics as blockchain and financial market innovation, about which I am passionate and whose impact on our industry is still unclear, I made the decision to pursue the CAIA Charter.
